When skiing its never limited to the slopes, anywhere that’s there’s snow will be garneted to be used sooner or later. Powder is an example of having the freedom of not being stuck to the slope. In powder skiers use a much wide ski to displace weight across the snow allowing to float rather than ski threw.
People go to amazing lengths to find the perfect run be it walking up a mountain for hours on end or renting a helicopter to be dropped off at the top. All with the same goal to ski
down having as much fun as possible. Most powder skiers are known as the crazies.

Hey guys, I’m heading out to Italy for the mid-term. I have my first fis race in Passo dello Stelvio, this race will have 4 *Giant Slalom race and 4 *slalom races.

*Slalom

Slalom is essentially a test of a skier's ability to maneuver quickly and efficiently. They must speed down a ski slope that has alternating red and blue gates. For men, there are usually 60 to 65 gates on a course; for women, there are usually 50 to 55 gates. The Slalom course in shorter than that of Giant Slalom, and because there are more gates through which a skier has to go, a skier must be incredibly precise so they don't make errors.

*Giant Slalom

On Giant Slalom, there are fewer turns than there on a Slalom course, but they are wider and also at lot faster. The course is also longer than the courses for Slalom. There are fewer gates on Giant Slalom than there are on Slalom. For men, there are roughly 50 to 55 gates. For women, there are roughly 40 to 45 gates.

The first thing I’m going to talk about is the “skiing” in Ireland if you could even call it that.   The slopes in Ireland is like skiing on giant brush being constantly watered by sprinklers, not grate to ski on worse to fall on but we use what we have.

The racers me included are all very competitive in racing not only on plastic but all over Europe, Skiing is now what most of our holidays are based on to squeeze the most out of training. This will be my first year doing FIS races (Federation International de Ski) so I will be posting a lot about the races I go to.
